On September 27, 2018, the Direct Selling Association hosted their annual Direct Selling Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. This day was intended to bring together all the independent direct sellers throughout the country. There were more than 150 direct selling distributors and executives from various companies. Among the attendees, Team National’s Executive Vice President, Phil Chrysler, was present with a few top leaders of the company: Double Platinum presidentials and Eagle winners Ron & Sheila Steffes, and Gary & Lori Perkins. It was a golden opportunity to share some of their experiences on how the industry has transformed their lives and families.
A recent report revealed that 18.6 million Americans were involved in the direct selling industry in 2017. In a rebuilding economy such as ours, topics on the efforts to protect and promote the direct selling business were heavy at hand. The direct selling business is not well received in many societies, as it does not have the best reputation. As an independent marketing director, it is imperative you follow the regulations implemented to aid in the positive growth of the industry. For many, this industry provides financial freedom, personal growth, and the leisure of a debt-free life.
Moreover, having come together in Capitol Hill, afforded companies a forum for open dialogue on the pros and cons they are experiencing in the industry. Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) stated, “As a member of the Direct Selling Caucus, I am working hard in Congress to create more entrepreneurial opportunities, and ladders to the middle-class for more Americans. That is why I am a strong supporter of direct selling and a true believer in its positive impact on entrepreneurs, customers, and communities.” It is safe to say that the direct selling industry is a growing, thriving one and will continue to provide more bright future for all Americans.
